A few days ago, Huawei’s global mobile team took to social media to announce that the P10 would indeed be unveiled at MWC 2017 on 26 February in Barcelona.

Following on from Huawei’s announcement that the P10 would be unveiled sooner than expected, noted leaker, Evan Blass, tweeted the below picture showing off what appears to be the soon-to-be unveiled P10 in a range of colours.

Gold has become a standard colour in most handset manufacturers repertoires. The Blue and Green colours are, however, new and appear to be one of the way’s Huawei is looking to differentiate itself from its competitors.

Here’s what we think we know based on the rumours surrounding Huawei’s upcoming flagship handset:

  • The P10 could have a QHD (1440 x 2560) display
  • Screen size could increase to 5.5-inches from the 5.2-inches on the P9
  • The fingerprint scanner will move from the back of the device to the front of the device
  • It will have an all metal body
  • The antenna bands will be redesigned
  • It will have a rear-facing Leica dual-camera setup
  • The P10 could include wireless charging
  • 4GB / 6GB RAM
  • Up to 256GB storage
  • It will be powered by the Kirin 960 chipset which is found in the Mate 9
  • There will be Lite and Plus variants of the phone as well

Huawei’s P9 range has performed well in South Africa. With the P9 Lite ranking as one of the most desired phones on Telkom Mobile’s network.

The P10 looks set to bring Huawei closer to moving up the ranks and becoming the number two handset manufacturer in the world.

It won’t be long until Huawei takes the wraps of their latest flagship.
