What These Companies Have In Common

It's worth noting that nine out of the top ten companies are not only internet businesses, but many of them did not exist when the first "Most Innovative" list was released. These companies thrive on sometimes messy inconsistencies and adaptation, choosing those over set-in-stone metrics. The innovative companies have also grown and adapted far beyond what their original purpose was. Amazon.com began as an online bookstore and is now the go-to place for any online shopping. They are also  involved in video streaming, music and MP3s, cloud infrastructure, and more. Many of the companies on this list have also realised that younger consumers expect newer, better products and services all the time. And, in order to keep up with an ever-changing consumer market, they need to truly listen to what their customers and users have to say. The single most important thing that all of these companies have, is focus. They've all found an area to specialise in and have focused all of their energies on being disruptors in their chosen field.
